Between studying and sleeping, I have managed to have some adventures. Firstly, I am excited that I got to go to the Richard Dawkins lecture last night. It didn't start till 7 and I happened to walk by at 4:30 and there was already a line forming!! Of course, I jumped in and I got a pretty good seat. He's one feisty old man and I like it!

I didn't get home till 10 p.m. (on a school night, yikes!) and when I walked up to the house, I noticed the front door wide open. Rob was home and upstairs (grr) and 5 of our animals were sitting on the couch or chairs looking at the front door as if they knew something was wrong. The second I walked in I saw the ferret cage open... and she was gone. We searched and searched and searched until I passed out from exhaustion. All day I have felt like a terrible ferret parent, even though I wasn't even home. I had nightmares of her being eaten by coyotes or mangled by the stray dogs. Oh, my poor little Lili!
Waiting for my shift to begin at work, I hopped online and looked at craigslist. Listed this morning, someone found a ferret in my subdivision! After screaming and running in a circle, I grabbed the phone and called her and arranged a pickup. Apparently, Lilu had quite a trek last night. She was 9 houses across the street! The woman's son (age 16) slept with her under the covers. (giggling at that image!)
Now, she's safe and warm in her own bed that needs washing, but I don't care about that. I'm just glad she's home.
I thought I'd share a little picture I took yesterday morning. I like the extra note at the bottom. :)
